Hometown: Lethbridge, Alta.
Program: The Database Administrator (DBA) program is a 40-week fast-track certificate program designed for students with previous information technology experience. The program prepares students for opportunities in the information technology field. DBA also includes an eight-week practicum.
Why? Gary is a classic computer person. “I’ve been playing on them my entire life,” he said. “My parents have pictures of me as a kid on the computer. There is video of me and my brother playing on a Tandy (computer).”
The Deets: To relax Gary likes to read, go out with friends or play games. “Xbox or computer games,” he said. “Not Facebook games. They suck up too much of your time.”
Gary prefers problems he can fix. With a computer, experts can figure out what is wrong with it and fix it, he said. It’s not open to interpretation like writing.
Gray’s favourite thing about Calgary is there are so many activities. “You can always find something to do.”
