About Us

SAIT students are women and men on the way up. They're bright, independent and freethinking. And they're in the process of creating a lifestyle.

The Weal chronicles the active lives of students now and helps set trends for the future. The paper covers campus and city news, student issues and lifestyles, college and professional sports, career trends and citywide entertainment.

The Weal is published weekly by the SAIT Students' Association with a press run of 4,600 copies. The Weal is tabloid format and is distributed free every Thursday throughout campus, the Alberta College of Art and Design, and 50 off-campus spots around the city. (For a list of off-campus sites, please contact us.)

SAIT offers a broad range of technical, business and applied arts programming at pre-employment, apprenticeship, certificate, diploma and applied degree levels. Enrollment in all SAIT programs exceeds 67,000 students; over 2,000 staff work on campus.

The Weal lets you reach SAIT students, faculty and staff – plus readers in hot spots like Kensington, 4th St. and 17th Ave. SW – in settings that speak directly to their interests.
