Tony Kiprop is a second season runner for the SAIT Trojans cross country team whose focus is on long-distance running stretching from five to 16 kilometers.

“I’m a bit of an odd runner; I do not eat before a race,” said Kiprop when sharing his race routine secret to success.

However, on a non-race day, Kiprop indulges on his favourite Kenyan food, Ugali, which is a dish of cornmeal cooked with water for a porridge to dough-like consistency, and is usually served with beef and sauce.

Kiprop left his home in Edoret, Kenya and came to SAIT to study in the Travel and Tourism program.

“I am easygoing, simplistic and a traveler,” said Kiprop, who hopes to start his own tourism company.

During his spare time, Kiprop can be found watching movies or his favourite television show How I Met Your Mother, and chilling out to the beats of Sean Paul and Bob Marley.
