Katie Morrison has returned for her second season with the Trojans this fall, and her passion for soccer is clear as she has traveled to numerous places in the United States and Mexico to play.
“Grant is a phenomenal coach. The atmosphere of the team is great and I feel like I learnt a lot more from him than if I would have playing for MRU,” said Morrison.
Morrison anticipates the success of her team during the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) nationals, held in Prince Edward Island this year.
“I have yet to travel east of Alberta, and attending the nationals would be a great experience,” said Morrison.
Morrison’s “laid back” yet determined spirit was displayed after sustaining a minor injury during a game on Sept. 8.
“I’m known for my humour and one-liners,” said Morrison.
Morrison has an optimistic future planned ahead, as she anticipates heading off to the University of Lethbridge, or the University of Calgary to pursue additional education once her program at SAIT is complete.
Morrison and the rest of the Trojans Women’s soccer team will be seen in action at their next home game on Saturday, Sept. 30 against Medicine Hat at 12 p.m.
