SAIT in a flash

•Alberta Premier Alison Redford helped officially open the SAIT Trades and Technology Complex this past Wednesday. The latest addition to the SAIT campus will have the capacity for up to 8,100 full-time and part-time students and looks to primarily host students of manufacturing, automation, energy and construction.
•Professional Cooking alumni Rupert Garcia took home second place at the Canadian Culinary Federation’s 2012 National Junior Chef Competition held in Halifax this past June. The 22-year-old qualified for the championship after winning first prize at the provincial competition in March.
•Landsman Properties Ltd. provided SAIT with a new set of wings this past week. The company presented a 1984 Bombardier Challenger CL601 aircraft that will be used by the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Technology, Avionics Technology and Aircraft Structures Technician programs.
