Following the departure of longtime SAITSA publications manager Suzanne Trudel at the end of October, there have been a lot of changes here at the Weal.

One of them is the addition of Brent Constantin to our editorial team, serving as our new publications editor.

Constantin is a graduate of the Broadcast Journalism program at NAIT and went on to get his degree in communications from the University of Calgary.

During his time at the U of C Constantin served as news editor at the Gauntlet, the U of C’s student newspaper.

But now Constantin is here, so why not pull up a chair and find out more about our editor as he answers questions from us, his staff.

Andrew Crossett wants to know:
What happens when you put a bag of microwavable popcorn in a microwave upside down?

Constantin says:
“Is the microwave upside down? Are you in the microwave? Too many variables. Focus less on the popcorn, more on yourself.”

Curtis Taylor wants to know:
What is your favourite sport?

Constantin says:
“I’m not very cool. I am going to google cool sports. Mario golf came up…Mario golf.”

Heather Yamashita and Kiah Gutowski want to know:
What did you want to be when you were growing up?

Constantin says:
“You’re implying that I haven’t achieved everything that I wanted to. Aim low and you’ll always succeed.”

Jenn Five wants to know:
What is your ultimate super group of musicians, dead or alive?

Constantin says:
“If David Bowie, Ryan Adams, Freddie Mercury, and the Shins got together would that not be the worst band ever?”

Cordell Blanchette wants to know:
What is your favourite publication, other than the Weal?

Constantin says:
“The Onion … it’s so evil and dark a lot of the time. That’s why I love it.”

Nicole Santerre wants to know:
How do you feel about photo illustrations?

Constantin says:
“I think they’re cool, just like Mario Golf.”
